Right lifestyle and yoga are the primary teachings of Ayurveda.

In India, the two systems of yoga and ayurveda are intwined and not really regarded as separate. Rather, they enhance one another. Ayurveda is an ancient system that promotes self-healing of the body and the mind, based on understanding where we are not balanced, and then trying to balance that.

Typically, this would include some consultation for diagnosis of where the student is, currently - where the imbalance is - followed by a series of methods to help bring the student back into balance.

Herbs are often used along with massage and purification techniques, helpful adjustments to diet and lifestyle, and a prescription of specific asanas. Many people practice the wrong type of yoga for their constitution because they are repeating habits of old. Fortunately, these habits can be changed, bringing about a greater sense of well-being.

Camella has been certified by the Ayurvedic College of California as an Ayurvedic yoga teacher. Individual classes or retreats are scheduled, and available by request.
